Terms of Service

Effective July 9, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) apply to the Narra website, desktop application, software license, downloads, and related support (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by the independent developer of Narra (“Narra,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, purchasing, activating, or using Narra, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The product

Narra is a downloadable, local-first macOS application for solo tabletop role-playing games. It provides AI-assisted narration, campaign files, dice and character-state tools, and related features. Narra requires a compatible AI model provider chosen and configured by you. Provider subscriptions, API usage, internet access, hardware, and other third-party costs are not included in the Narra purchase price.

Narra is sold as early-access software. Features, compatibility, and interfaces may change as the product develops. We aim to preserve campaign portability, but you should keep your own backups of important campaign files.

3. Purchases and delivery

Narra is currently offered as a one-time CA$50 personal-use license, plus any applicable taxes or localized checkout adjustments. It is not a subscription and has no recurring Narra charge. Lemon Squeezy acts as the merchant of record and handles checkout, payment processing, tax collection, receipts, and delivery of the license key.

After purchase, the license key unlocks campaign creation and AI chat in the desktop app. License activation requires an internet connection to validate the key with Lemon Squeezy. The number of simultaneous activations is the limit associated with the purchased license and shown by the app or checkout records.

Purchases are also subject to Lemon Squeezy’s applicable buyer terms. Our Refund Policy explains refund eligibility.

4. License grant

Subject to payment and compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Narra for your personal, non-commercial tabletop play on devices you own or control, up to the activation limit assigned to the license.

You may not sell, sublicense, share, publish, rent, redistribute, or commercially exploit the app or license key; circumvent license controls; or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it. You may deactivate a device before moving an activation to another device.

5. Your content and AI providers

You retain your rights in campaign text, characters, settings, prompts, and other content you create. You are responsible for that content and for ensuring you have the right to use it.

Narra stores campaign data locally by default. When you select a cloud or remote AI provider, the app sends the prompts and campaign context needed to generate a response to that provider. That provider processes the data under its own terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for choosing and configuring your provider, protecting its credentials, and paying its fees.

AI-generated content can be inaccurate, inconsistent, offensive, or unsuitable. Review it before relying on it. Narra is an entertainment tool and does not provide professional, legal, medical, financial, safety, or other expert advice.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to violate the law or another person’s rights, distribute malware, interfere with the Service or its license system, gain unauthorized access, or generate or distribute content where doing so would be unlawful. You must comply with the terms of any AI provider and third-party service you connect to Narra.

7. Intellectual property

Narra, its app code, visual design, branding, documentation, and original product materials are owned by Narra or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you. Third-party components and reference material remain subject to their respective licenses and notices.

8. Availability, support, and changes

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features, builds, download channels, or provider integrations. We do not promise that every provider, model, operating-system version, or feature will remain available. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis through hello@playnarra.com.

9. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free output, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions, so these exclusions may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Narra will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; lost profits; lost data; model-provider charges; or loss arising from AI output, provider availability, or failure to maintain backups. Our total liability arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for the Narra license giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Termination

You may stop using Narra at any time. We may suspend or terminate a license obtained fraudulently, refunded or charged back, shared beyond its license terms, or used in material violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when we do. Material changes will apply prospectively, and continued use after they take effect means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.
