Privacy Policy

Effective July 9, 2026

1. Overview

Narra is a local-first desktop application. This policy explains what information is processed when you visit playnarra.com, purchase or activate a license, contact support, or use the Narra app.

2. Information stored locally

Narra stores the following information on your Mac rather than in a Narra-hosted account:

  • campaign files, messages, characters, notes, and game state;
  • app settings, including your selected AI provider and any provider credentials you enter;
  • license status, the license key, activation identifier, and related purchase metadata returned during validation; and
  • local interface preferences.

You control these local files. Anyone with access to your computer account or backups may be able to access them, so protect your device and credentials.

3. Information sent to third parties

AI model providers

When you use a cloud or remote AI provider, Narra sends prompts, relevant campaign context, and tool results to the provider you configured so it can generate the game response. Depending on your setup, that provider may be OpenAI, Anthropic, another OpenAI-compatible service, or a service you operate. Local providers such as Ollama or LM Studio can process requests on your own network or device. Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Lemon Squeezy

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for Narra purchases. It collects and processes checkout, billing, tax, fraud-prevention, receipt, and license information under its own privacy policy. Narra does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

When you activate a license, the app sends the license key and a device label based on your Mac’s hostname to Lemon Squeezy’s license API. Validation and deactivation send the license key and activation identifier. Lemon Squeezy returns status and purchase metadata such as customer name or email, product, variant, activation limit, and expiration status; the app stores that response locally.

Email support

If you contact us, we receive your email address and any information you include. We use it to respond, provide support, handle refund questions, and maintain necessary business records.

4. Website data

The Narra marketing site does not currently use advertising trackers, analytics cookies, or a user account system. Like most hosted websites, the hosting and network providers may process basic request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamp for delivery, security, and operational logs.

5. Why information is processed

Information is processed only as needed to provide the app and support, complete and validate purchases, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with legal obligations, and maintain the security and operation of the website and license system.

6. Retention

Local app information remains on your device until you edit or delete it or uninstall the app and remove its data. Support emails and related business records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for support, dispute resolution, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Lemon Squeezy, hosting providers, and AI providers set their own retention periods.

7. Your choices and rights

You can choose a local AI provider, remove cloud-provider credentials, delete local campaigns, deactivate a Narra license from the app, and stop using the Service. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information we control.

To make a privacy request, email hello@playnarra.com. We may need to verify your identity. For checkout or payment data controlled by Lemon Squeezy, you may also need to contact Lemon Squeezy directly.

8. Security and international processing

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to a small software product, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Third-party providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to their policies and applicable safeguards.

9. Children

Narra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can address it.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Narra changes. We will update the effective date on this page. Questions or requests can be sent to hello@playnarra.com.
